Crescendo Concert Series 2008•09

As a gift to our community, we offer these five "free concerts". However, tickets are required and may be picked up at Dundee Presbyterian Church or by sending a stamped self addressed envelope to the church at 5312 Underwood Ave., Omaha, NE 68132. Tickets for the first concert will become available on Sept. 1, and tickets for the remaining concerts on the Monday following each concert.

All concerts start at 7 pm in the Dundee Presbyterian Sanctuary, doors open at 6:15.

Chamber Orchestra
Our ninth Crescendo! season again begins with the Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra and Resident Conductor, Ernest Richardson. The orchestra fills our sanctuary with exquisite music chosen from an outstanding repertoire - guaranteeing a dynamic performance!

Nielson & YoungNielson & Young
Piano Duo
More than three decades of musical collaboration have carried the piano duo of Stephen Nielson and Ovid Young to more than 3,500 concerts around the world. The duo has an extensive discography covering classical repertoire, along with their signature hymn-tune arrangements.

Joseph MartinJoseph Martin
Pianist & Composer
Joseph Martin has been a featured piano soloist with symphony orchestras in the United States and Mexico. His very first piano recording, American Tapestry, was nominated for a Dove Award. Joe has published over a thousand sacred and secular compositions and is a nationally respected arranger. The Dundee Presbyterian Chancel Choir will join Mr. Martin for this unique performance.

A Cappella Vocal Octet
The four men and four women of An Octave Above are a vocal ensemble whose repertoire includes doo-wop, jazz, standards and madrigals. Duain Wolfe, Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Chorus says; “An Octave Above certainly lives up to its lofty name... a group of cracker-jack singers who deliver electrifying performances for many different audiences.” 

March 15, 2009 - 7 p.m.

Celtic Fiddle FestivalCeltic Fiddle Festival
Celtic Fiddle Festival features fiddle stylists representing the heritage of three unique cultures. Kevin Burke (Ireland), Christian Lemaître (Brittany) and André Brunet (Quebec) combine their talents for an evening of dazzling energy and subtle grace. The Washington Post called Celtic Fiddle Festival "three of the finest folk violinists anywhere." Their combined repertoire conjure an experience of breathtaking performances.
